A recent independent survey of St. Patrick's Church has highlighted a number of significant repairs that will be required to safeguard the future of our church building.

The most urgent concern is the roof at the rear of the church, which is now failing and allowing water to enter the building. This has already caused damage to the gallery, sanctuary and other areas. Temporary repairs are required before winter to prevent further deterioration and protect the fabric of the church. The estimated cost of these immediate works is approximately £10,000.

The survey also identified a much larger project that will need to be undertaken within the next 12 months. The roof surrounding the dome has reached the stage where replacement is now recommended. The current estimated cost of this work is around £120,000.

These findings underline the importance of investing in the maintenance and preservation of our church. St. Patrick's has been at the heart of parish life for nearly sixty years, serving as a place of worship, celebration, prayer and community for generations of families.

The parish is working closely with Salford Diocese to explore available support and to develop a plan for addressing both the immediate and longer-term repairs. While the challenges are considerable, we remain committed to ensuring that St. Patrick's continues to serve future generations as a welcoming and vibrant place of faith.
